Quilter Internationals: England vs Italy team news for pre-Rugby World Cup Test at St James’ Park

Mark Wilson is relishing the chance of stepping outside on the St James’ Park to face Italy on Friday.
The rear row has been called in the beginning line-up for its Quilter International prior to Eddie Jones’ side head outside with the game taking place.
Wilson has already played club rugby at the floor, featuring in Newcastle Falcons’ Gallagher Premiership clash with Sale Sharks – the club he’ll join on loan for the 2019/20 season – .
However the 29-year-old showed just how much it will mean to feature England in their first international because he joined the youth set dated 14 in a town that has been a part of his life.
„It will be quite a happy moment,“ Wilson said. „I played at St James’ earlier in this season, against Sale, and it is such a special location.
„The opportunity to play with this special arena is something that you’ve got to love and is something I am really enthusiastic about.
„I suppose it’ll be exciting for a lot of the youngsters who go and watch Newcastle, being in a position to find an England Test match at their door.
„I’m convinced there are a good deal of rugby supporters around who maybe do not get the chance to go to Twickenham much and I am sure it will be a thrilling experience for them.“
Wilson will make his first start of England’s pre-World Cup campaign from the Italians, while Ruaridh McConnochie is determined to win his first cap after two false starts.
The Bath winger was named to face Wales in the games at the Principality Stadium and Twickenham to need to pull out of both trauma.
Also included in the team are three players from outside the World Cup squad in Joe Marchant, Charlie Ewels and Matt Kvesic. Marchant lines up at outside center alongside Piers Francis, while Ewels and Kvesic are about the replacements bench.
England go into the game on the rear of a listing 57-15 win over Ireland in Twickenham while opponents Italy were conquered at 47-19 from France in Paris last Saturday.
Head trainer Connor O’Shea has made 11 changes from that match to the XV that was Italian, for example bringing Gloucester’s Callum Braley – who qualifies by his grandfather for Italy – in to win his third cap.
„We will face among the most powerful teams on the planet at a game which reflects the second step in our preparation for the Rugby World Cup,“ O’Shea said.
„We have another chance to appraise the players’ type, in order to understand how to carry on the road to the first game against Namibia. Our focus is on England.“
Italy’s additional Cup Tests have seen them lose 29-10 into Ireland at Dublin, followed with an win at home to Russia.
